Southern Brave's memorable season ends in Eliminator

Southern Brave’s The Hundred 2026 campaign came to a hard-fought close at a packed Kia Oval, as the squad put up a spirited defense of a modest target before falling to a five-wicket defeat against Sunrisers Leeds in the Eliminator.
After being put into bat, Southern Brave got off to an explosive, ideal start through Lizelle Lee and Maia Bouchier. The opening pair dominated the early stages, racing to a vibrant 41-run partnership off 33 balls. However, Sunrisers managed to stem the scoring through disciplined spin and seam, restricting the middle order despite determined double-figure efforts from Charli Knott and skipper Sophie Molineux. Brave ultimately posted 114 for 7, setting up a steep defensive task.
Refusing to let the game slip, Southern Brave’s high-caliber bowling unit came out firing with immense pride and intensity. Lauren Bell set an exceptional early tone, conceding just two runs off her opening 10 deliveries while snaring a crucial Powerplay breakthrough. Issy Wong then delivered a fiery spell bowling out danger-batter Phoebe Litchfield before taking two quick wickets in two balls to throw the contest wide open and keep Brave squarely in the hunt.
While Sunrisers eventually held their composure to seal the chase with 11 balls to spare, the Brave squad displayed outstanding resolve, taking key wickets and forcing the opposition to earn every single run.
While falling short of the final is a hearbreak, Southern Brave reflect on a campaign defined by team effort, a magnificent five-game winning streak, and a fight till the very end.
Southern Brave extend their heartfelt gratitude to the incredible supporters who backed the team with unbelievable energy throughout the tournament.
