Southern Brave put up a spirited performance under pressure at Utilita Bowl, falling just 10 runs short against Manchester Super Giants in a tense, down-to-the-wire encounter.

Manchester Super Giants won the toss and elected to bat and put up a strong opening stand but the Brave bowling attack demonstrated incredible fightback character in the second half of the innings with the spin duo of Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid executing a tight control in middle-over control conceding just 38 runs combined, triggering a staggering collapse with the Super Giants losing eight wickets for just 30 runs to restrict them to 149 for 8.

Chasing 150 for victory, Tristan Stubbs alongside Marcus Stoinis launched a fightback after a few early wickets. Stubbs took the game deep and keep the home crowd on its feet with a sensational 38-ball 53.

Despite needing 38 off the last ten, the fight never wavered. Nikhil Chaudhary provided a late surge of boundaries to bring the equation down but the Super Giants seamers managed to hold off the late charge, leaving Brave just short on 139 for 6.

While the result caps off a hard-fought campaign, the Braves will look to close out their campaign on a high when they take on Trent Rockets at Nottingham on August 10.
