Southern Brave announce Moeen Ali as replacement for Thomas Rew for The Hundred 2026
Southern Brave have signed Moeen Ali as a replacement for Thomas Rew, who has been ruled out for the remainder of The Hundred 2026 owing to an ankle injury he sustained while attempting to field during the opening match against Welsh Fire.
Moeen Ali brings vast experience and composure to the Braves' top order and bowling attack, having been a consistent performer in T20 competitions across the globe.
The 39-year-old southpaw has over 450 T20 matches to his name, scoring 8000+ runs at a strike-rate of 136.41 with 39 fifties and three centuries,
The right-arm off-spinner has also made useful contributions with the ball, picking 250+ wickets at an economy under eight and best figures of 5/34.
With momentum firmly on their side after back-to-back wins, Southern Brave will take on Welsh Fire on August 03, aiming to cement its seat in the Eliminator.
