Southern Brave complete Men's and Women's rosters for 2026 Hundred with four Wildcard signings

The final pieces of the puzzle have officially fallen into place. Southern Brave has today locked in its Men’s and Women’s rosters for the 2026 edition of The Hundred, securing the signatures of Naomi Dattani, Katherine Fraser, Saif Zaib, and homegrown teenage prodigy Manny Lumsden. 

These four players join us on the South Coast through the Vitality Wildcard draft, a mechanism designed to reward the summer’s standout domestic performers with a platform to compete in the tournament. With these acquisitions, Southern Brave has fortified its ranks, adding crucial depth to the squad with a strong mix of experience, versatility and local talent in what promises to be a thrilling campaign.

In the women’s draft, Naomi Dattani returns to a familiar home on the South Coast, having previously represented the Braves in 2024. The 32-year-old left-arm seam-bowling all-rounder has featured in four editions of The Hundred, across three different franchises and brings a wealth of experience having featured in 28 matches. Dattani recently featured for Hampshire in the Women’s Vitality Blast, claiming five wickets with best figures of 2/19, while scoring two 30+ scores across four innings. 

Meanwhile, Katherine Fraser, the 21-year-old Scottish all-rounder joins the franchise following an excellent stint for Scotland in the Women’s T20I Tri-Series, where she scored 113 runs in four innings,  including a match-winning unbeaten 56 against the Netherlands. 

The off-spinner has also been a standout performer with the ball having picked up five wickets from two outings in the ongoing Women’s T20 World Cup. Her addition gives the Brave another all-round option. On the other hand, the men’s Wildcard selections were headlined by the signing of 17-year-old local speedster Manny Lumsden and seasoned middle-order campaigner Saif Zaib. 

Lumsden, made his Vitality Blast debut this season with Hampshire picking up five wickets from as many encounters, including two-wicket hauls against Surrey and Sussex while Zaib has established himself as one of the circuit’s most dependable finishers, accumulating 1,509 runs across 76 innings at a blistering, high-impact career strike rate of 147.79.

The 28-year-old also offers a reliable variation with the ball. His left-arm spin has yielded 11 wickets in five matches, including a pair of three-wicket hauls for Northamptonshire’s 2nd XI. He also was among the runs having played played two match-winning knocks of 76* and 47.

With these Wildcard signings the Southern Brave are officially locked, loaded, and ready to bring the silverware to the South Coast.
