Welsh Fire Opener Sets the Tone for Southern Brave’s 2026 Campaign

Southern Brave’s 2026 Hundred campaign will begin where every Brave season should feel alive: at Utilita Bowl, in front of the home crowd.
Welsh Fire visit the South Coast on Wednesday 22 July, one day after the competition begins. It gives Southern Brave an immediate chance to set the tone for the summer, with both the women’s and men’s teams opening their campaigns at home.
Opening fixtures carry a different kind of energy. They bring first looks, fresh hopes and early signs of what a team might become. For the Brave, this one will also offer supporters the first proper view of a squad shaped for a new season and a club moving into a new phase.
There will be plenty of names to watch.
Jofra Archer, Lauren Bell, Maia Bouchier and Jamie Smith are all part of the Brave setup, while overseas stars Laura Wolvaardt, Jemimah Rodrigues, Tristan Stubbs and Marcus Stoinis add further quality across the home schedule.
After the opener, Southern Brave travel to Headingley to face Sunrisers Leeds on Saturday 25 July. They return quickly to Utilita Bowl for two important home fixtures: MI London on Monday 27 July and Birmingham Phoenix on Thursday 30 July.
The Phoenix match will carry particular interest. Last year’s fixture sold out, and another strong crowd is expected when Birmingham return to the South Coast. With school holidays, evening starts and the double-header format, the July home run could become a major part of the Brave’s season.
August begins on the road. The Brave travel to Lord’s to face London Spirit on Saturday 1 August, before heading to Sophia Gardens to meet Welsh Fire again on Monday 3 August.
The final home group match comes on Saturday 8 August, when Manchester Super Giants visit Utilita Bowl. For supporters, that fixture will be the last chance to see the Brave at home in the group stage.
The group campaign then closes at Trent Bridge against Trent Rockets on Monday 10 August. From there, the road leads to the knockout stage, with the Eliminator scheduled for Friday 14 August at Kia Oval and the Final set for Sunday 16 August at Lord’s.
The shape of the season is clear. A home opener. A strong July run at Utilita Bowl. Big away trips. A final home Saturday. Then the push for Lord’s.
For the Brave family, the countdown now has a date: Wednesday 22 July.
Supporters can register their interest to stay updated on ticket releases and matchday information.
